TAKE ACTION: Draft rules to ban cosmetics testing on animals - Sukanya Kadyan

The Issue

All the offenses against the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945 are non cognizable and bailable in legal terms, being a toothless legislation, the United Nation affiliated International Organisation for Animal Protection : OIPA - Indian People for Animals demands:​

1. All offenses against the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945 should be cognizable and non bailable in legal terms.​

2. Cosmetics testing on animals is banned now in India, the Drugs Technical Advisory Board also recommended ban on all imported cosmetics tested on animals, we welcome this decision and demanding further immediate recall of all kinds of stock from the Indian market, which were tested on animals.​

3. Oxytocin production, distribution and use needs attention.

Proof of burden imposed on the offenders instead of prosecution.
