The Issue

Buffalo has recently cut 14 of the remaining 28 instrumental music programs, and greatly reduced 4 more programs. We are petitioning the board to over turn this decision and reinstate these programs. Instrumental music is a vital part of learning. It incorporates skills which relate to all other core subject areas as well as teaching students teamwork, discipline, dedication, and responsibility. In a city where more than 1/3 of the population is living below the poverty line, schools are the only place where many of these students will ever have the opportunity to pick up and learn an instrument. Please support the forGOT Music movement in Buffalo and show your support by signing this petition which will be presented at the next Board meeting August 21st 2013.
