🚨 Tree Ordinance Update: Your Voice Matters! 🗓️ The next Township Committee meeting is tentatively scheduled for this Thursday, December 11th at 7:30pm. We are hopeful the Committee has received the requested NJ DEP documents and will be able to present much-needed, reasonable amendments to the current Tree Ordinance. Right now, homeowners are required to obtain township approval before removing hazardous, diseased, or dead trees, this delay can put your safety, your family, and your property at risk. The reality is simple: If we don’t speak up, the ordinance will remain unreasonable, and the restrictions on our properties may only increase over time. ➡️ Important: Even properties with state-approved Woodlands Management Plans, Forest Stewardship Plans, and tree farms which are all exempt, are still required to file an application under the current ordinance. 🌲 🫵 This is why your presence and your voice are critical. If we want a sensible, and safety focused ordinance, we must voice our concerns. �🌳 Let’s come together to push for a Tree Ordinance that meets the NJ DEP requirements but also protects residents, respects property owners, and preserves the natural beauty of rural Alexandria Township without putting anyone in harm’s way as other rural townships have already done.
