깨끗한 물을 마실 수 있는 특권은 지구상의 모든 사람들에게 주어져야 할 기본적인 권리입니다. 하지만 많은 국가에서는 물이 부족하여 국민들이 심각한 건강 문제에 직면하게 됩니다. 물이 부족한 나라의 사람들도 깨끗한 물을 마실 수 있도록 하는 것은 우리 모두가 가져야 할 책임이 아닐까요?
현재 물이 부족한 국가들에서는 지리적, 경제적, 정치적 제약으로 인해 수도와 정수시설의 구축이 어려운 상황입니다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 한국의 기후에너지환경 장관인 김성환이 국제적인 협력을 주도하여 이러한 국가들에 필요한 수도 및 정수시설을 개설하는 데 앞장서야 합니다.
유엔에 따르면, 전 세계 인구의 약 29억 명이 기본적인 위생시설 없이 생활하고 있으며, 그중 대부분이 깨끗한 물을 마실 수 없는 나라에 살고 있습니다. 이로 인해 매년 수백만 명이 수인성 질병으로 목숨을 잃고 있습니다.
한국은 이미 세계적으로 인정받는 정수 기술과 물 관리 시스템을 보유하고 있습니다. 이제는 이를 활용하여 국제사회에서의 역할을 확대하고, 물 부족 문제 해결에 기여해야 할 때입니다. 기후변화와 환경 파괴는 국경을 초월하여 전 세계 모든 나라에 영향을 미치고 있습니다.

Access to clean water is a fundamental right that should be afforded to everyone on Earth. However, in many nations, water scarcity exposes citizens to serious health risks. Is it not our collective responsibility to ensure that people in water-scarce countries also have access to clean water? In countries currently facing water shortages, geographical, economic, and political constraints make it difficult to establish water supply and purification infrastructure. To address this issue, South Korea’s Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment, Kim Sung-hwan, should spearhead international cooperation and take the lead in installing the necessary water supply and purification facilities in these nations. According to the United Nations, approximately 2.9 billion people worldwide live without basic sanitation facilities, and the majority of them reside in countries where clean water is unavailable. Consequently, millions of people lose their lives to waterborne diseases every year.Korea already possesses world-class water purification technology and water management systems. Now is the time to leverage these capabilities to expand our role in the international community and contribute to resolving water scarcity. Climate change and environmental degradation transcend borders, affecting nations across the globe. Under the leadership of Minister Kim Sung-hwan, let us work to earn the trust of the international community and uphold fundamental human rights by providing sustainable water supply and purification facilities to countries facing water shortages.
