要請書が提出されました

「ゼロ・プラン」に反対の立場を表明しつつ、マリベス・ドミンゴさんとお子さんを保護するためのこの要請書に署名してくださったすべての方々に、心より感謝申し上げます。7月17日（金）（ドミンゴさんの誕生日！）に、kosaten、カフィン・ミグラント・センター、JCHRPのメンバーが、ドミンゴさんの弁護士である笹本潤先生と共に出席し、東京入国管理局審判部門へこの要請書を提出いたしました。提出時点での署名者数は5107名でした。この要請書に署名し、シェアし、拡散へ協力してくださった皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。この要請書は、ドミンゴさんの「特別在留許可」申請のサポートとして提出され、彼女のケースに対する支援の広がりを証明するものです。

ドミンゴさんの裁判

ドミンゴさんは入管収容施設に4年近く収容されていた間に受けた虐待をめぐり、入国管理局（国）を相手取って起こした裁判の判決が7月13日、言い渡されました。判決は入管の主張を支持し、床に1時間近くも強制的に押さえつけられるなど、ドミンゴさんが受けた暴力を「合法」と認定したものであり、私たちは深く悲しんでいます。これは明らかに容認できないものであり、司法の誤りです。このため、ドミンゴさんは7月16日、東京高等裁判所への上訴を申し立てました。

講演の詳細

ノンちゃんの近況

ノンちゃんは、東京での新しい学校での一学期を終えたところです。以前の母親から無理やり引き離され、施設への強制入所の経験からトラウマを抱えていましたが、新しい環境ではリラックスできるようになり、ドミンゴさんや先生方、友人たちの支えもあり、日に日に元気になってきています。私たちは皆、ノンちゃんを応援し続け、彼女がドミンゴさんと一緒に日本で暮らせるよう、全力を尽くしていきます。

The Petition has been Submitted

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who signed this petition for the protection of Maribeth Domingo and her child, whilst taking a stand against the zero plan. We are pleased to announce that members of kosaten, Kafin Migrant Center and JCHRP attended with Domingo san’s lawyer, Jun Sasamoto, on Friday 17th July (Domingo san’s birthday!) to submit this petition to the Adjunction Division of the Tokyo Immigration Center. At the time of submission the petition totaled 5107 signatories. Thank you truly to everyone who signed, shared and contributed to the promotion of this petition. The petition has been submitted as evidence in support of Domingo san’s application for Special Permit of Residence, proving the extent of moral support behind Domingo san’s case. 

Domingo san’s Court Case

On 13th July the verdict was announced for Domingo san’s court case against the immigration authorities for the abuse she suffered while detained for nearly four years in the immigration detention center. We are deeply saddened by the result which sided with the immigration authorities and deemed the violence which Domingo san suffered, including nearly 1 hour forcible restraint to the floor, to be “legal”. This is clearly unacceptable and a miscarriage of justice – prompting Domingo san to file on 16th July for the case to be heard in the Tokyo High Court.

Lecture Details

We would also like to inform you of a guest lecture by Domingo san’s lawyer, Jun Sasamoto, on 21st July(Tuesday) as part of the ongoing series organized by lawyer Koichi Kodama. The lecture will examine both the case of Domingo san and Mark Gordon san, who were both victims of violence by the hands of immigration officers. Update on Nonchan

Nonchan has just completed her first term in her new school in Tokyo. Although she has suffered trauma from her experiences of being previously forcibly separated from her mother and kept in institutional care, she has become able to relax in her new environment and with the support of Domingo san, her teachers and friends is going from strength to strength. We all continue to cheer Nonchan on and will do all we can to keep her together with Domingo san in Japan.
