অনলাইন জুয়ার বিস্তার কোনো সাময়িক প্রবণতা নয়—এটি একটি গুরুতর জাতীয় সংকট, যা অবিলম্বে পদক্ষেপ দাবি করে। সাম্প্রতিক গবেষণায় দেখা গেছে, বাংলাদেশের ৬০ শতাংশেরও বেশি তরুণ অনলাইন জুয়া বিজ্ঞাপনের সংস্পর্শে এসেছে, যা একটি ক্রমবর্ধমান মহামারির ইঙ্গিত দেয়। এ উদ্বেগকে আরও জোরালো করে বাংলাদেশ টেলিযোগাযোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ কমিশনের তথ্য, যেখানে গত এক বছরে অনলাইন জুয়া কার্যক্রমে ২০০ শতাংশ বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ার কথা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।

জুয়া আসক্তি শুধু ব্যক্তিকেই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত করে না—এটি পরিবারকে ধ্বংস করে এবং সমাজকে দুর্বল করে তোলে। এমন এক দেশে, যেখানে অনেক পরিবারই নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় চাহিদা পূরণে হিমশিম খায়, সেখানে জুয়া-জনিত আর্থিক ক্ষতি পরিবারগুলোকে আরও দারিদ্র্যের দিকে ঠেলে দেয়, সামাজিক অস্থিরতা, ঋণের বোঝা ও মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য সমস্যাকে বাড়িয়ে তোলে।

আমাদের দাবি
তরুণদের সুরক্ষা ও দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ নিশ্চিত করতে আমরা বাংলাদেশ সরকার এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট টেলিযোগাযোগ কর্তৃপক্ষের কাছে অবিলম্বে কঠোর ও কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ নেওয়ার আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি:

• সকল অনলাইন জুয়া প্ল্যাটফর্ম ও বিজ্ঞাপন নিষিদ্ধ করা
• ইন্টারনেট পর্যবেক্ষণ ও আইন প্রয়োগ ব্যবস্থা আরও শক্তিশালী করা
• জুয়া সংক্রান্ত আইন লঙ্ঘনকারী কোম্পানি ও ডিজিটাল প্ল্যাটফর্মের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করা
• বাংলাদেশে অবৈধভাবে পরিচালিত বিদেশি জুয়া ওয়েবসাইট বন্ধ করা

এছাড়াও, জুয়ার ক্ষতিকর প্রভাব সম্পর্কে তরুণদের সচেতন করতে সারাদেশে ব্যাপক জনসচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি চালুর দাবি জানাই। এসব উদ্যোগ স্কুল, কলেজ, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও কমিউনিটি সেন্টারভিত্তিক হওয়া উচিত, যাতে ক্ষতি হওয়ার আগেই তরুণরা সঠিক জ্ঞান ও প্রতিরোধমূলক দিকনির্দেশনা পায়।

ভবিষ্যৎ রক্ষার আহ্বান

Blocking foreign gambling websites operating illegally within Bangladesh

Additionally, we call for nationwide awareness campaigns to educate young people about the dangers of gambling. These initiatives should focus on schools, colleges, universities, and community centers, empowering youth with knowledge and prevention strategies before harm occurs.
