The Issue
كل يوم بنزل أمشي في منطقتي، بكتشف إني محاط بمباني طوب أحمر مش مدهونة. "التشوه البصري" ده بقا منتشر لدرجة إنه بقا بيمحي جمال بلدنا تماماً. المنظر بيبان غير حضاري وبيدي السياح انطباع أول سيء جداً عن مصر، وبيعتم على تاريخنا وثقافتنا العظيمة. إحنا نستحق نعيش في مناطق شكلها منظم ونضيف. Every day, when I walk through my neighborhood, I am surrounded by unfinished, raw red-brick buildings. This "visual deformity" has become so widespread that it completely takes away from the beauty of our country. It looks uncivilized and gives tourists a terrible first impression of Egypt, overshadowing our incredible history and culture. We deserve to live in neighborhoods that look organized and clean.
القرار الرئاسي الصادر في 2019 كان الهدف منه مواجهة المشكلة دي وإلزام أصحاب المباني الطوب الأحمر في المناطق السكنية بدهان الواجهات بلون موحد. ورغم كده، القانون لسه مش متطبق بشكل كامل، وده ساب مناطق كتير في كل أنحاء مصر، من القاهرة للإسكندرية، شكلها عشوائي ومهمل. غياب التحرك ده مش بس بيظلم مجتمعاتنا، لكنه كمان بيتجاهل جهود كبيرة اتعملت للارتقاء بالشكل الجمالي لبلدنا.
The 2019 presidential decree was introduced with the intention of tackling this issue by requiring all unpainted red-brick buildings in local Egyptian neighborhoods to be painted uniformly. Despite this, the decree has yet to be enforced, leaving many neighborhoods across Egypt, from Cairo to Alexandria, looking disorganized and neglected. This lack of action not only fails our communities but also disregards a significant effort to uplift our national aesthetics.
