As someone who grew up in the Lima City Schools District, who has younger siblings, as well as both parents working in the district. I find it completely ridiculous that there are major bullying issues going throughout the school district; and especially Liberty Arts Magnet, where children are moving to other schools to escape what should be a safe place for them. The main issue is that the “higher ranking staff” does not continue with disciplinary actions and forces the staff to handle situations that they should not have to handle. Which then places the children who are causing the issues back into the class rooms with those who are being bullied. There are even issues where some staff members are “bullies” to others, which has caused a mass exodus of phenomenal teachers, who just don’t want to be in these situations. The only difference between the staff and the students, is that the staff is not legally obligated to remain in school. 

I am hoping that if we receive enough signatures on this petition, not only will it catch the school boards attention, but they will have to enforce a Zero-Tolerance Policy for bullying and harassment throughout the school district (which includes the staff).
