ZaZa’s Law

ZaZa’s Law
The issue
The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne recommends parents supervise children under the age of three eating at all times, and that food like grapes be chopped into small sizes to prevent choking.
Grapes are the third most common cause of food-related fatal choking incidents
Grapes can KILL. Warn the public of the HAZARD of CHOKING in children under the age of four unless they are cut up. ZaZa’s Law!In honor of my 22 month old Son who choked to death. A son, a brother , a nephew, a cousin, a community member
Why is this important?
Our son ZAIRE ZaZa died on the 15/01/2024 he was 22 months 2 months before his second Birthday from choking on a grape. EMT's were unable to save his life. Grapes are too soft to be expelled by the Heimlich Maneuver. Alessandro ZaZa brother witnessed the death, Has a Dad did all My First aid training from CPR ,Mouth to Mouth I wasn’t able to save his life.
Has a family we witnessed a traumatic incident that we are going to carry forever, Statistics show this is one of the top choking hazards in children under the age of four. 4800 kids die each year 4 and under. LETS MAKE EVERYONE AWARE
Warning labels or a sign when purchasing grapes is a fairly simple thing. In regards to cost, a sign placed where shoppers can see when they select their grapes is a one-time expense that can last several years. It's a small price for public awareness; It's a priceless service if it saves a life. Ideally we would like supermarkets and big chains to consider putting some choking hazard warning labels on [grapes], just like they do on toys and other things.”
In honor of his life, I would like to get "ZaZa Law" passed to make it mandatory to place warning labels on packaged grapes and signage in stores on loose grapes! Thank you. ZAIRE ZaZa 23/02/22-15/01/224
