Food trucks and vendors lined streets filled with makeshift half-basketball courts and hundreds of players from ages 7 and up. NBA and NCAA basketball players visited and participated in multiple tournaments in the late 2000s.

Even with the streets closed, area businesses saw record sales from the influx of visitors who normally wouldn’t be on-foot downtown were it not for the basketball extravaganza.

Zanesville just hasn’t been the same since the end of the annual Gus Macker tournament.
