Make the RSPCA Accountable to a third party

The issue

Healthy animals, in good condition are being seized by the RSPCA . They are being held indefinitely with little or no investigation done by the RSPCA. Owners have have costs of care of these aniamls hanging over their heads, while not knowing if the animals are still alive or what condition they are still in.

Cases are not dealt with in a timely way, people and animals are left hanging. Legal assistance is extremely expensive and there is limited or no resources to assist owners to get their aniamls back and or clear their names.

The RSPCA need to be accountable to an ombudsman about what they seize,  why they seized and  how long they take to investigate a case, the same as the police. 2 years after seizing is too long. Animals have disappeared, been euthanized, died or been sold, few live in there .

With the release of the  a RSPCA review which has no recomendation covering the seizure of aniaml and the up coming Victorian Government review  to the RSPCA due to start in Novemeber it will be early to middle of next year beore anything can be done about the subject of SEIZURES in Victoria. Action is required now. please read the letter below that will be sent to Joshua Morris who will be chairing the review.
