CALL TO ACTION

CALL ON MINISTER JOHN STREICKER AND THE LOCAL RCMP TO ALIGN THEIR EFFORTS TO PURSUE A FULL INVESTIGATION AND SEEK A MORE JUST PUNISHMENT FOR RODNEY AND EKATERINA BAKER

#JusticeForBeaverCreek #JusticeForWRFN

On January 21st, 2021, Rodney and Ekaterina Baker entered the small border community of Beaver Creek, Yukon under false pretenses.

They intentionally broke self-isolation laws, lied about their identities, and put our community at risk so they could receive the Moderna vaccine.

Our community was selected to receive the vaccine early because of its remoteness, Elderly and vulnerable population, and lack of health care services.

They put our community, Elders, children, leadership, and vulnerable at risk all for selfish reasons.

Rodney and Ekaterina Baker were charged $575 each for breaking quarantine. Rodney Baker made $10.6 million in 2019 alone. The punishment does not equate to the crime. The fine, particularly when applied to these individuals, is essentially meaningless.

Please support us by signing this petition and calling on Minister Streicker and the local RCMP to pursue a full investigation and a more just punishment. It is important that the penalty seriously discourages any future similar behaviour.
