Casandra Kelly started this petition to youtube creators and veiwers and

Not to long ago it was announced that youtube would remove the dislike button ratio visual from the eyes of the viewers and consumers of the content on their site. they claimed it was because suppossed content creators were claiming to be harassed and negatively affected by the ratios of the dislikes on their videos. Despite claiming that, the communities response on twitter and other platforms were overall unanimous in defending the visual ratio saying that not only does it help them decipher a bad tutorial video from another, but it also helps creators learn what their target audience desires from their channel. It also should be said that when public apologies are made by creators who have done wrong it'll be easier for those undecided to make an assumption to continue supporting that creator or not. thier claim although is highly and severely hypocritical for the creators themselves can still receive analytics of the dislike ratio. Many have claimed that the reason for this decision was not only to favorite companies and their wealth but to also claim more money by getting rid of this feature and milking off the like ratios benefits. Youtube was a platform that strived towards representing individuals in their passions. Creators had a say of what was best for them and their audiences. Back then youtube listened to us, but now youtube has fallen into favor of big corporations over the voices of the honest content creators who live and thrive off thier platform. Youtube is ignoring our freedom of speech and, by getting rid of the dislike button they are also getting rid of our right to press because we deserve to view what we want and share our opinions through showed ratio and analytics. This was a overall useless update and corporate decision by youtube that the time should have been used to fix other mor important issues. To name a few i have heard of, People have been claiming copyright of content and music on videos despite having zero evdience to back up the claim, practically by default most animations posted on the site are deemed for children even though animation is a universal media that can be enjoyed by all ages (that one isnt major but it was a personal nitpick and it should be looked into more), The site sometimes demonitizes news videos trying to spread awareness about problematic people and events of the site and in real life (shootings, groomers, etc. stuff of that nature), and despite forcing creators to censor thier content to protect the children browsing their site under COPPA law(even though there is a kids version of youtube that they made for this exact reason that they should have brought more attention towards) there are gross toliet humor, and sexually explicit video thumbnails being made that clearly look as if the videos are targeted to capture the eye of younger audiences. This petition is to hopefully bring back the dislike button but it is also to remind youtube that it was made for the people and the people should have a say in the updates that it impliments for every one youtube makes it directly affects them and the general public at times. thank you for reading all of this and I hope you consider signing and joining our cause for a better youtube of tommorow.
