The Issue
OMELEME TV makers of PIECES OF LOVE AND NEARLY ALL MEN is a dedicated Queer youtube channel and mirror through wish queer folks in a marginalized country like Nigeria see themselves.
There is a pressing need for more episodes and series that highlight same-sex relationships among black Africans, particularly within the Nigerian context. Same-sex love is often denied and shrouded in taboo in our society. Productions like OMELEME TV the producers of "Pieces of Love" play a crucial role in normalizing these relationships, providing visibility and affirmation for LGBTQ+ individuals, both young and old. And the only platform through which their voice can be hard and seen is YOUTUBE. This streaming medium was and is still the primary platform with which this films were made to reach its audience. So tagging us SCAM is not only surprising but disappointing.
We have NEVER involved ourselves in any aspect that goes against YOUTUBE policies and have always complied with their rules and regulations accordingly. So DELETING our YouTube page is basically shutting the VOICE of the QUEER folks in the region.
We plead with YOUTUBE to kindly RESTORE our page OMELEME TV.
We are hopeful that YOUTUBE considers our plea and harken to the voice of all who signed this petition.
