First Campaign Letter:

D-E(U)-Radicalization

European union is burning with inequalities. There are too many people who have nothing and some others who have too much. When it was born, the EU, in the ideas of founding fathers, should have been a political project based on cooperation and prosperity for everyone. Something in the European integretion project didn't work properly, it's crystal clear.
A wide portion of our European community risks to fall into a radicalization spiral. This is something we are supposed to stop. We need concrete actions! We have to put Europe back on track, whatever it takes! In order to prevent radicalization processes, there are many policies we can implement starting from now. In a first place, we have to reduce social and economic inequality by implementing expansive policies that is to say public investments in key sectors, like for example, healthcare, infrastructures and social care. In order to conclude, we think it's useful to talk about migration, which represents one of the most important factors for radicalization. Indeed, during these years, the southern borders of Europe were exposed to huge migration flows. A GOOD solution would be to establish virtuous paths of integration and concretely by providing schools, housing and physicological assistance while te EU must invest in the countries of origin of those people in order to make them safe and economically stable.
"Hospitality means the right of a foreigner, who arrives in the territory of others, not to be treated hostile."
(Immanuel Kant ).
EU is about solidarity, pluralism and equality. Breaking down the walls of prejudice to build bridges towards a bright future for our European community.

Sincerely

Erasmus Radicability project.

Second Campaign Letter:

Dear Mariya Gabriel- President of the youth department of the European commission,

We are contacting you as a group of young people concerned about the danger that radicalization present in Europe and the whole world. We foster the protection of youth to extreme ideas that are present in our society. Therefore, we ask as concern citizens that implementation of new policies to engage students and educator. As policies suggestions we came out with some programs that might help to the solution of this matter, such a solutions are as they follow:

• Education activities promoted by the European Union about what radicalization is and how we can identify radical messages.

• Promotion of activities that engage youth with people from multicultural backgrounds, especially to vulnerable sides of the population that are more likely to be radicalized.

• Give a piece of extensive and detailed information to an educator about how to identify students that might be in danger of being radicalized

• Create accessible literature that is easily comprehensible for youth, this one can be available in educations centers, but it’s important to target youth as well that do not attend educational institutions. For this case, we ask for this practical information to available in a communal center.

• Promote preventing and active mental health care in school. Since vulnerable youth are more likely to be persuaded by radical groups.

we know, you are engaged on well-being of the Euroean youth, we hope you hear our proposal and we relied on you for the better being of our youth. We hear a lot that youth is the future. So, let’s protect our future now that they need us.

Sincerely

Erasmus Radicability project.

Third Campaign Letter:

To the president of the European Union

Dear Sir,
The European Union is facing a hard time with youth radicalization because young people can’t find any support, in family and at school, being negative influenced by social groups and media, which are offering, most of the time, bad examples related to tolerance of different races, nationalities, religions, etc.

In these cases, teenagers usually found in strong personalities, who own an important social role, an example to follow.
However, this kind of situations are not so positive, so we need to face this social condition by steering young people from this negative influence.
For this reason we are suggesting the following:
1. Promote family values by introducing psychology support in schools and check periodically their mental state.
2. Filtering information from mass media for avoiding bad influence on young people.
3. Formalize obligatory lessons about tolerance and diversity.

We hope you will pay attention to our petition and will take actions accordingly.

With respect,

Erasmus Radicability project.

Fourth Campaign Letter:

Dear Mariya Gabriel:
We, the young people, are writing to you because we have a problem at home. Europe has a sickness and our future is becoming darker and darker due to the developing of new radicalized waves that bring souvenirs about our scariest past times. This extreme situation is causing our society damages which are hardly to be reversed.

We consider that working on this specific sectors is essential to tackle this issue:

Regarding education, we should not forget this is the basis of every society. Hence, it is important to start to teach principles, values and encourage a more emotional education. At these times, youth people need to hear more than one side of their history and current issues. Developing critical thinking and social engagement is vital.

Moreover, we propose more integration programs to enrich intercultural knowledge and raise empathy.

For diminishing vulnerability, we claim that psychological assistance at schools is needed. Teachers are driving forces of change and they have to participate actively.

To a certain extent, social inequality is a cause of this issue. You as decision making powers are there to implement policies, eradicating poverty not keeping our sources in the hands of a few.

Radicalization is attacking the mediocre part of the society, it is like a severe illness searching the weakest. Thus, we must search for its roots and attempt to stop its spreading.

We beg you to protect our rights, lives and hopes.
Sincerely yours
Natalia Cediel, Charly Lagarde Cabañero, Stela Milkova, Mădălina Bratu, Aleksandra Petrova

Fifth Campaign Letter:

Dear decision makers,

Radicalisation, over the past years, has been highlighted as a topic of debate in which it can be shaped in various forms such as political, social, cultural and religious. Radicalisation is an issue because it has proven to increase the exercised level of violence, targeted exclusion, disorder and in extreme cases can even lead to crimes. As participants of the training course regarding Radicalisation, we would like to propose some solution to decrease the levels of youth radicalisation in the European Union.

As a complex topic in different fields, finding a complete solution is a continuous process, however, we would like to propose some solutions to prevent or decrease future consequences of radicalisation.

First of all, we would like to address education as an important sector as we believe that radicalisation is often due to the lack of knowledge, awareness and values. A concrete measure here is to introduce weekly courses embedded in the grading system that promote and teach ethical matters. This can be done in the form of community service and in general set the foundation for common norms and values. Besides this, a greater emphasis can be put on the importance of team building and mutual understanding. This taught in the form of workshops or seminars on a monthly basis.

Furthermore, more awareness has to be directed towards psychological matters as a vulnerable mental state of the individual can lead to a higher risk of radicalising. Therefore, psychologists or therapists should be directly available for students at all times.

We, as participants of the training course "RADICABILITY - 2019-1-DE04-KA105-017478" and most importantly as young citizens of the European Union, cannot emphasise enough on the priority of introducing matters to decrease any level of radicalisation and extremism in our society.

We hope you take this letter with the listed solutions into consideration when approaching the topic of human rights and would like thank you for taking time to read this proposal.

Sincerely,

Amalia Alibaev, Alexandro Ariciuc, Asen Aleksiev, Gorkiem Tufan, Laura Seidl and Vaida Tufan
