  • When we are born, and our Parents give us our name that they decided on, they had no idea how very powerful our names would be one day. God knew though and now today, right now,  there is more power in your name than you can even imagine. Your name has the power to change thousands of lives. It has the power to end terrible àcts of illegal abuse and neglext that has been happening for many, many years. You name has the power to create a State wide LAW ! When this law is created and when there are better nurses and doctors that actually love caring for people and when there are Advocates put into every Nursing Home and the Patients are treated with love and kindness, when us as Seniors, knowing that one day, any day, we will need the help of those Nursing Homes, we know that there will be nothing to fear. Your name has the power to eliminate fear, pain, heartache, tears, from the lives of thousands of Elderly and disabled Patients and replace it with happiness, laughter, comfort, and the knowing that they were not forgotten. For years and years, they have all been made to feel like they don't matter. That their lives never mattered and don't matter to anyone. That they aren't worth caring about and protecting. Your name has the power to change all of that. 
  • Please, take a moment to just close your eyes, try to imagine that your unable to get up and move because your legs don't work any more, and you have to go to the bathroom. You  already feel like it's degrading enough that you have to go in your diaper and then you have to lay there in it. Now, imagine being so terrified to say anything and choosing to just sit in it because you know that the nurses hate having to change diapers and clean up feces. Imagine feeling so scared that they will come in and smell it and know that you need a diaper change. Imagine that even when they know that you need a diaper change, they will beat on you then still make you sit in it for days and then when they absolutely HAVE to change you, they beat in you again and threaten to beat on you worse next time if you don't hold it. Imagine living that kind of life, every day and every night. Imagine having family members that either have no other options or don't care or not having any family at all to care. Now imagine speaking up for yourself, and before it can go any further, you get hit on the head so hard that it causes you to become unresponsive. You can no longer speak, no longer show emotion, no longer do any thing. Imagine being that way and still being beaten on and all you can do is lay there because you can't do anything else. Now, you will live being abused and neglected and won't be able to say anything or tell anyone. Imagine how I felt when within the first few days of my Grandmother being in a Nursing Home for rehabilitation on her legs so she could come live with me once her legs became strong again and after sleeping by her side every day and night for 2 years while she was sick being told that it's against the rules for anyone to stay overnight to have to leave and then come back to see her beaten black and blue with a swollen black foot, cuts and bruises all over her body as a large knot on her forehead ad unable to look at me or speak. Imagine how I felt, seeing what she had gone through, a woman who took care of everyone her while life, who retired a Surgical Assistant, who always did for everyone who asked, who had never been hit on a day in her life, and I wasn't able to be there to protect her from what they did to her. She went in there well just to work on her legs, she came out unable to move or speak and a few weeks later, she was gone. Imagine having to let go of someone who had been there in your life every day for your entire life, who was your Grandparent, Parent, Teacher, Support, Best Friend, the only thing in your life was good, and your left not knowing who you are without that person because it had never been you without them. 
  • This is what happens. This has been happening for YEARS & YEARS & YEARS! No one has has ever made it stop. City and county officials know about it, police officers know about it, doctors know about it, family members know about it. WHY??? 
  • YOUR NAME CAN MAKE IT STOP!! 
  • Please, add your name to this Petition because it's going to take all of us to show that too many people know about this and it will no longer be kept a secret. We need to show them that we care and we will not let it continue another day. All you need to do is just add your name. That's all. Please put the power of your name where it matters. Let's finally put an end to abuse and neglect being inflicted on the Elderly and disabled  Patients.
