You shouldn't go hungry just because you have IBS and are homeless.

Having Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and other disabling conditions, shouldn't be a barrier to getting food especially when you are homeless. Right now in California and other places in the US there are people who are either starving or eating food that will make them sick, because they are homeless. There's all this food, but none you can eat.
One out of six people have IBS.
There is plenty of food donated by companies both Low-Fodmap oriented or otherwise, regularly to both food distribution companies and free meals which people with a medical diet can eat. However, the charities that provide these meals continue to deny services or fail to make any accommodation on the basis that this would unreasonably change their practices. Which is not true at all.
Food Stamps does not cover this, because Low-Fodmap and other medical restrictive diets are priced and considered a luxury, literally making a $3 loaf of bread a $13 loaf of bread.
These foods can injure someone with a medical condition, causing severe pain and other symptoms, making it hard to work and even disabling people. Homeless People have enough problems without having to call in sick. Avoiding the subject just makes it worse, continuing homelessness in a cruel fashion.
So we are asking all companies who do donate regularly to these programs to stop until they comply with the ADA law and promote services that do.
We are asking all companies which provide food to the homeless to start complying with the ADA law or help start a service which does.
As well as, all services and companies, that provide food services to the public.
Because no one should have to go hungry when there is food in front of them.
