You're Being Taxed on Sunscreens You Actually Need! Fight for GST-Free SPF!!

You're Being Taxed on Sunscreens You Actually Need! Fight for GST-Free SPF!!
The issue
Join Australian skincare brand Hey Bud Skincare in calling for fair treatment of multi-purpose sunscreens under the new Tax legislation.
At Hey Bud, we believe sun protection is an essential - not a luxury. However, the proposed Draft Legislation, 'GSTD 2024/D2 Goods and services tax: supplies of sunscreen' could classify multi-purpose sunscreens, like those with added skincare benefits, as taxable goods under GST.
This approach undermines the importance of SPF in fighting harmful UV damage and skin cancer. We believe all sunscreens, whether standard or multi-functional, should be GST-free.
Our SPF50 Sunscreen Lotion, Serving Shade, was designed to address barriers to regular sunscreen use - such as poor compatibility with makeup and the dreaded white cast - while also delivering skincare benefits that encourage daily application. By combining sun protection with hydration and priming, our sunscreen ensures users stay protected more consistently.
We’re urging the Australian government to keep multi-purpose sunscreens GST-free to make staying safe in the sun accessible for everyone.
Support our cause by signing the petition and help protect Aussie skin!
We might be a 'Sunburnt Country', but we don't want to be burnt by these new tax laws!
