Boycotting Koreaboo and Allkpop!

Boycotting Koreaboo and Allkpop!
The issue
We are aiming to boycott koreaboo and allkpop as they are both websites that claim to provide accurate and real time updates about korean idols in the kpop industry as well as others like film and modelling. Both of these websites have lost their purpose in providing the public with information and instead now rely on making viral headlines.
It has been constantly reoccurring from both new sites that they only use the tactics of "click bait" titles and misleading articles in order to capture attention and gain views for their website. Boycotting is a simple solution as it will not only mean that we will see less of these annoying and useless articles but also state to the two websites that their audience are not as stupid as they perceive us to be.
Once again and again, they have initiated many misunderstandings and purposely mocking and lowering the reputation of artists. What they are technically doing on a lower scale is defamation and because it is on-line they are able to get away with it.
Fans and individuals do not deserve to be exposed to articles that are misleading and basically considered spam. And especially those of the younger audience will go to believe these articles and basically endanger themselves by speaking of the wrong information. The danger could be from something simply like cyber bullying from others or even to being sued by the entertainment company.
Here are just some ridiculous topics that the websites have put out to the public:
- Seventeen having anti fans at MAMA 2015: False
- Lovelyz having anti fans at their shows due to no lightsticks in the audience: False
- BTS Rap Monster plagiarising lyrics: False
- The spread of Ailee's pictures which were illegal
- Labelling Jay Park as someone who used illegal drugs and defaming him
- Making lists of idols in which are "ugly" or "untalented"
- Using the word korean netizens in almost every article that is deemed unacceptable to justify the publishing of the article despite the minority.
- Biased articles that clearly are not neutral or professional in any way.
Once we boycott these two websites, people may ask what website would we go to instead. There are reliable websites like soompi.com which provide the accurate information without bias and update a lot quicker than koreaboo and allkpop because they do not have to copy the news off other sites. There are also many fan accounts and even those from korea with english translated updates on your favourite groups on twitter.
If you see any account relying on koreaboo or allkpop information to update their audience or the link being shared, don't be afraid to tell them to not do so it will not increase their exposure.
As unpopular as these websites are now, they still are being looked at and viewed by those who aren't aware to the harm it has put on individuals so we must go on and make the pledge to boycott them once for all. I also recommend those to report the tweets with the links of the article from the websites' twitter accounts.
Please share this to as many people and online communities as possible!
