Please install a zebra pedestrian crossing near the junction of Hamilton Drive and New Lane - just outside 113 Hamilton Drive next to the entry to Railway Institute, YO24. There is already a dropped kerb there but zebra crossing would be much safer for all the kids attending both Acomb Primary School (back entry via Nursery Drive) and also Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Primary School. It is also right next to the entry to the West Bank Park.

The junction is very busy during school run hours. The sight lines are poor with parked cars and there is also bus stop not too far away from the junction. The only way for the children to cross the Hamilton Drive is to rely on the goodwill of drivers. Many children use this junction on the way to and from the above mentioned schools and also all the park goers. There is currently no crossing over Hamilton Drive near New Lane, no flashing yellow lights close to the West Bank Park, and no other safety measures installed.

Many parents have already witnessed a number of car bumps in that area and also many near misses involving children!

Please do not wait until a child is injured or worse before installing a safe crossing here.
