Thank you for fighting to keep the Gibson House a historic house museum!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and for sharing this petition. It truly is a testament to the value of the Gibson House museum that so many people have chosen to express their support.
Thank you so much to those of you who attended the YoloArts Board meeting tonight. Representatives from Woodland, Davis, West Sacramento and Winters all spoke. The many speakers gave the YoloArts Board and Alison Flory, their executive director, plenty to think about. They hopefully have a better understanding of why so many people want the Gibson House to remain as a historic house museum.
What’s next?
It does not appear an agreement will be signed between the County and YoloArts before the end of February so there is still time to speak up and oppose this plan.
1) Please keep sharing the petition and encouraging people to leave comments
2) Please consider emailing the Supervisors directly. oscar.villegas@yolocounty.org, don.saylor@yolocounty.org, matt@rexroad.com, jim.provenza@yolocounty.org, duane.chamberlain@yolocounty.org; patrick.blacklock@yolocounty.org
If you email, please identify where you live in Yolo County (or where your friends/family live if you have moved out of the area). We have heard that Supervisors have said no one is contacting them directly. Please email or call! You can find out more about your specific supervisor here: http://www.yolocounty.org/general-government/board-of-supervisors
3) Attend a Meeting! It is late notice, but the Board of Supervisors is meeting at 9am on Tuesday, January 23rd. Please come and provide public comment at the beginning of the meeting on why they should reverse this decision.
Please also consider speaking at one of these other upcoming events & meetings:
