Most chickens produced for consumption already have miserable lives as it is. It disturbs me to see them being transported to the chicken plants throughout Northwest Arkansas, at 70 miles per hour on the highway in the middle of winter without any sort of shelter from the elements. In their final hours can't we at least make their final destination a relatively comfortable one without being terrified by the wind and frozen from the brutal temperatures? Can't we transport them in trucks with closed quarters or at least with a tarp over their cages?
