A very high risk safety hazard to animals and humans walking this trail of Pembina River
Pembina River, Alberta, Canada is a very popular spot, where people take this trail to float down the River. This is a very high risk safety hazard to animals and humans walking this trail of Pembina River. Not only have lives been taken, but animals have been injured, as well as most recently, a man who fell but fortunately managed to walk away with only minor injuries. With this taken into consideration, we are hoping to have the county finally visit this issue, and potentially save many of future lives by adding some sort of barrier or fence.
On July 2, 2021 My brother was involved in a tragic accident. He was attempting to rescue his dog, off the Pembina River embankment, and fell to his death. I've just learned before the one month mark of my brother's accident that someone else fell in the same location. This person was lucky to only walk away with injuries.
A year before my brother's accident, a dog fell down the same cliff, suffering broken legs.
In the trail, there is what looks to be a "lookout point" and a very steep cliff, where these accidents are happening. Apparently, the county has been to this trail, and they deemed it as "not a safety concern".
Please help share in hopes to have a safe lookout point here, or some sort of a barrier to avoid another death or injury.
