The Yarra Ranges will be introducing a cat curfew. 24(7. The cats can be caught and caged at Coldstream animal shleter for 7 days, if not claimed will be put down.

The impact this will have, is revenue making for the shire, and many cat haters will take advantage of this cruel act. In some areas, and including mine, the neighbours are already intending to cage, and or harm cats as they dont like them.

Surely this is a very unjust law. Older cats are used to be allowed ouside, pensioners who have no money to enclose cats will be forced to either dispose of their much loved animal. Many will just close the door and the catas will become feral.

The Shire has no intention of 'maning' the new law other than to raise money from fines.

Its the cruelty of people who will cause the damage by capturing cats. Despite the ruling saying that cats must be returned to their owners if caught or handed into Coldstream Animal shelter, they are being very nieve to think that cat haters will bother.
