HELP! Rushall Reserve is now at serious risk of being lost as natural open space for passive recreation and an off-lead dog area. Plans to dissect the reserve with a bike path are underway, despite significant community opposition. Five City of Yarra Councillors ordered council officers to commence designing the bicycle shared pathway. There is also a threat to the reserve remaining an off-lead dog area, as Rushall Reserve has never been identified as such in the Council’s Domestic Animals Act. Council is due to seek public submissions on the Domestic Animals Act soon to gazette parks in Yarra as on or off lead. We want Rushall Reserve gazetted as OFF-LEAD.
