At the Yarra City Council meeting on Tuesday 21 July, the delegated council officer's recommendation (that the bike path be delayed until further examination of the costs and feasibility of fixing the Rushall Station underpass) was not voted on. Instead, it was pre-empted by a motion from Cr. Gaylard that the Council move to develop and examine specific plans for the bike path through Rushall Reserve (of course, with the rider that there be "community consultation"). This motion was passed.
Councillors voting FOR the motion:
Gaylard, Fristacky, Coleman, Stone and Jolly.
Councillors voting AGAINST the motion:
Vlahogiannis, Colanzi and Barbour.
WE NEED THIS PETITION TO CONTINUE. LET'S SHOW THE COUNCIL HOW STRONGLY OUR COMMUNITY FEELS ABOUT THE DECISION TO WRECK THIS SMALL COMMUNITY PARK.
