Save the Parkers River Marsh from Municipal Development!
The Issue
Please sign our petition to protect Cape Cod's Parkers River Marsh for future generations!
The Parkers River Salt Marsh, in South Yarmouth, MA, is a pristine natural resource, under threat of needless Municipal Development. This ecological gem is home to foxes, deer, osprey, and red tail hawks. Thousands of indigenous and migratory waterfowl call the marsh their home. The Town of Yarmouth is planning to permanently scar this environmental treasure with a 3/4 mile pedestrian boardwalk, connecting Seagull Beach with an already overcrowded Route 28.
Priceless ecosystems as spectacular as the Parkers River Marsh are vanishing quickly. Yarmouth MA already has a pedestrian boardwalk across the Bass Hole Marsh at Gray's Beach...a mere 6 miles away. At this "price"...can we afford a second, redundant boardwalk?
Thanks for your interest, and please help us prevent a boardwalk from destroying the cherished Parkers River Marsh.
