Boda-boda is indispensable in our lives. It is the cheapest way to transport children to school; the best way to beat traffic jam; the most convenient way to deliver goods; the best way to find our way in unfamiliar places; among other benefits. Boda-boda is also the number one employer of youths in Uganda today helping to put food, healthcare and education on the table for numerous families. However, the economic rights of riders and therefore the benefits we derive from the use of boda-bodas are being threatened by restrictive licensing fees that are unfordable to most riders.

This petition is a call to policy makers in Uganda to acknowledge the significant role of boda-bodas by making it easy and affordable for riders to acquire operation licences. Your signature could help save a job, feed a family, enable a poor urban child reach school, allow a trader to send and receive goods, aid a traveler find his or her way to a strange destination etc.
