Bring Back the Ampeg AMG100

The Issue

We, the undersigned, are pleased that Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. (YGG) has acquired Ampeg.  Ampeg holds quite a special place in the music community, and Yamaha is renowned for its vision, while its products are known for their quality and affordability alike.

And while we are equally pleased that YGG has now, as it said, "secured a position...in the market for specialized bassist products," we would nevertheless point out that Ampeg itself has a history in the market for guitarist products, as well, and that among those several products nothing is more beloved, more recognizable and--in many cases--more sought after than the Dan Armstrong Ampeg guitar and its reissue, the AMG100.

And because they are sought after, they have become somewhat rare in both availability and resale price, more's the pity for guitarists who want them.

We, the undersigned, thus humbly petition Yamaha Guitar Group to reissue the AMG100 with all of its customary, quality appointments and further humbly petition YGG to please employ the original 3+3, straight-string headstock design and sell the re-reissued guitar with *both* the dual-blade Sustain Treble and single-blade Rock Treble pickups.

For this, we the undersigned will be eternally grateful and unyielding in our loyalty to Yamaha for having heard us, their customers, and listened.
