There are many dogs around the world in which they are abused for reasons such as domestic violence at home, or human consumption. This includes all dogs, from pets to stray dogs. These dogs aren’t just being abused but they are being killed for their meat to be eaten. These are innocent dog that are being mistreated for someone else’s pleasure. It’s not fair that dogs have to suffer for something they have never done. These dogs are being beaten, burned, wiped, raped and killed. According to www.brandongaille.com it is stated that dogs are the most common victims of animal abuse. They also say that documented cruelty cases are accounted for 64.5% media reported. Some of the reasons that these dogs are being killed is because their owners just can’t take care of them anymore. There was a study found by a Canadian Police that found 70% of people arrested for animal cruelty with past records of other violent crimes. Russell Brand is well-known for his active involvement in many social justice movements.“I don’t see why someone should lose their life just so you can have a snack...If you’ve got any concern at all about animal welfare, you’ve got to not eat meat.” -Russell Brand 

To think that in China it is okay with them to slaughter dog because they have a festival. It is called the “Dog Meat Festival” they have a collection of dogs that are being killed for their meat.  China says that they do this because it is a big seller and because it is very convenient for the people. This is an annual celebration that is held in Yulin, Guangxi, China. This festival began in 2009, and spans about ten days during that time an estimated 10,000-15,000 dogs are consumed. These dogs get pulled from houses and from the streets and are tortured. They get boiled alive, than cut up into pieces. 

There are many foundations out there on social media trying to stop the Yulin Dog Meat Festival and I don’t believe that’s enough. There’s also protests that will start in China but will immediately get shut down by the other people to not get the Chinese government involved. People say they recognize what is going on in China but don’t do anything about it. I believe that the people killing these dogs should all be arrested and the money they make off these dogs should be taken from them. Also all the people that are currently buying these dogs for “food” should stop buying them and should also be arrested because they are supporting the dog brutality. I also believe that the Chinese government should be more aware and involved with their own people because this is happening under their noses. It should be illegal in China to kill or abuse dogs.
