Drop California Felony Charges Against David Daleiden

Pro-life activist and founder of the Center for Medical Progress, David Daleiden, has released undercover videos since 2015 exposing Planned Parenthood's practice of illegally selling fetal body parts. Because of these explosive investigations, Daleiden has been targeted by Democrats, particularly in California.
Last year, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, a longtime Planned Parenthood proponent, initiated investigations on Daleiden in response to the CMP videos. Daleiden's house was raided and his footage confiscated.
Harris's office also worked with Planned Parenthood last September to draft legislation criminalizing the recording of private conversations with "healthcare providers" like Planned Parenthood. This was signed into law by California Governor Jerry Brown. However, the ACLU, Los Angeles Times, and other news organizations have criticized this law as an infringement on the freedom of the press. Furthermore, Daleiden's films were shot before the legislation was composed.
During her 2016 Senate campaign, Harris received donations from Planned Parenthood to fund her campaign. California's new Attorney General, Xavier Becerra, also accepted thousands of dollars from Planned Parenthood during his congressional campaigns in 2012 and 2014. The conflict of interest is clear.
Now Becerra has filed 15 felony charges against David Daleiden and colleague Sandra Merritt. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood has been exempt from legal repercussions, despite the evidence proving they attempted to illegally sell baby body parts for profit, violating both state and federal laws. Becerra is using his position to further his personal political agenda, suppressing freedom of the press.
Even the LA Times Editorial Board called this move "disturbingly aggressive" and "misplaced." In cases of public interest, an exception is often made for investigative journalists who secretly record private conversations to expose mistreatment or criminal activity.
In a recent statement, Daleiden called the charges "bogus," saying they were "from Planned Parenthood’s political cronies." Fortunately, Daleiden has beat the odds before when charges against him were abruptly dropped in Texas. The same can be done in California.
Now we the people are calling on Attorney General Xavier Becerra to drop the ridiculous charges against Daleiden and Merritt, and pursue legal action against the truly guilty party, Planned Parenthood.
