Justice for Sassy.

The Issue

Please join me in demanding that criminal charges are filed against those responsible for the horrific abuse endured by Sassy.

S.N.A.R.R Animal Rescue Northeast writes: On August 28, 2019 "A NEIGHBOR HEARD SCREAMING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT for three nights. On the third night, she called animal control who followed the screaming which led them to a dog with her feet mangled and ripped off, intentionally locked in a shed. They opened the door and found Sassy hiding, terrified, in shock still screaming in pain. Maggots crawling through wounds, eyes and mouth."

S.N.A.R.R immediately jumped in to assist, arranging transportation to rescue. S.N.A.R.R is well equipped to help the most severely injured, abused, and otherwise distressed animals who are lucky enough to find themselves in their care. In fact, that is all that this rescue does; care for the most dire of creatures, those who no other will help.

On August 29, 2019 S.N.A.R.R called the veterinarian in VA where Sassy was being treated to confirm that their transporter would be picking Sassy up. Shockingly, S.N.A.R.R was informed that Wythe County Animal Control Officer had ordered her killed. The experts at S.N.A.R.R, who have successfully treated animals in as bad of shape and worse than Sassy. had determined that she could be saved. Wythe County Animal Control decided she wasn't worth the effort.

Now Wythe County has made it clear that they do not intend to pursue criminal charges in this case. A dog so abused, so long suffered, so strong, living in agony for at least 3 days, probably much longer, killed and forgotten. WE CAN NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!

Please sign this petition to demand that those in Wythe VA with the power to bring some justice to this dogs suffering do so.
