TNR PROGRAMS FOR SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA

TNR PROGRAMS FOR SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA
The Issue
Seminole County Florida has a serious and heartbreaking feral and homeless cat over population. Many counties including Lake, Orange and Volusia are all on board with amazing no cost, and low cost Trap/Neuter/Vaccinate/Return programs, with many organizations and veterinarians on board. TNVR, controls this over population, by Spaying/Neutering/Vaccinating and returning these cats, to the place they have come to call home.
I have recently started helping a community in Sanford with TNVR. Some in the community was trapping on their own, and calling animal control to pick them up. They are held for several days, and euthanized, even if the have the ear tip showing they have been TNVR'd. It literally cost the caretaker $105.00 to save the cat from being put down in 2 days. The cat named Star, is super sweet and will be vetted and not put back, due to the risk of her going back to AC. This is so incredibly sad, and we have to try to stop this from happening.
Feral cats, are due to pet owners not getting the proper vetting to stop the reproducing of homeless, sick and dying cats and kittens. Owners, will put their pets outside, and try to learn to fend for themselves and keep mating for many miles.
FACT: In seven years, one un-spayed female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats! Alarming isn't it.
There are many volunteers like me with hearts larger than life, that purchase and will post fundraisers for new humane feral cat traps and vet appointments to help all of these cats, get healthy and stop producing many unwanted litters. The shelters are so over run with cats and kittens, and thousands are euthanized every year, due to there not being enough homes, and the fact that some of them are simply not adoptable. This program will cut those numbers in more than half! Here is a link to just one of the wonderful shelters reports, with the TNR program we are needing! See the results for yourself!
I am also including a link to Alley Cat Allies! They explain everything from A to Z, that you need to know to understand how, and why this works! Please help me in helping these cats, that didn't ask to be homeless! Let's get this done! This is just the start! Please speak with your county commissioners, and go to board meetings! It will truly help! THANK YOU!!!
