Why is Amnesty Australia silent regarding Julian Assange? We THE PEOPLE respectfully Petition Amnesty Australia and Amnesty International to speak out regarding the plight of Australian Citizen Julian Assange and uphold the UN judgement that Julian has been arbitrarily detained for nearly 7 years. Julian is now a political prisoner because as a journalist he dared to tell the truth and publish documents that the USA government in particular wanted kept secret - documents concerning corrupt dealings in war that the people have a right to know the details of. If Julian is not freed and his voice is silenced, corruption, an end to free speech, and a dangerous threat to our democracy will be unleashed.
