COVID-19 upended a critical baseball season for many, if not all, high school baseball players.  For our senior players, it may have been the last time they would be able to step out onto a baseball field; for other players, it was the season to get noticed by college prospects. It would be a season of lasts for some and firsts for others.  A season many high school players were anxiously awaiting.  Now a lot comes down to what happens this summer.  American legion has been officially canceled, yet the parks open in WV June 8, 2020.  If these high school players were able to play even part of the summer under their High School baseball program, most would feel grateful and satisfied.  What many of these players have been working on for the last two, three, four years is affected in a way that can’t be fixed and it’s a shame.  Allow these students to have their baseball season, if for no other reason give our Senior players a chance to play one more season with their team before leaving for a future of uncertainty.
