WTC Final Venue

WTC Final Venue
The Issue
Why I'm Fighting for a Fair WTC Final"
Cricket is more than a sport — it's a global emotion. And Test cricket? That’s the soul of the game.
The ICC World Test Championship was introduced to give meaning to every Test match, ensuring the two best teams in the world meet in a fair, balanced final. But there’s a flaw in the system — and it’s a big one.
In 2025, South Africa played Australia at Lord’s — a neutral venue. Even though South Africa was administratively the "home" team, it wasn’t a real advantage. But in 2027, what if England qualifies for the final?
The match is already scheduled at Lord’s — England’s actual home ground.
That means:
England plays on their familiar turf.
They get the home crowd.
They understand the pitch and weather better than anyone else.
All this, even if India or another team finishes at the top of the WTC points table.
Is that fair?
Shouldn’t a world championship final be on neutral ground — always?
When Aiden Markram scored a century in the 2025 final, his name went on the Home Honours Board at Lord’s, not because South Africa was actually playing at home — but because the ICC labeled them that way for formality.
What happens when it’s England for real?
This is why I started this petition.
To demand fairness.
To stand up for fans, players, and the spirit of the game.
Let’s come together and urge the ICC to:
Change the final venue if England qualifies.
Or give top-ranked teams the right to host.
Or find a truly neutral ground for all future WTC finals.
