My name is Kia Bouldin and I am starting this petition on behalf of Charles Bellamy Jr. who was wrongfully convicted back in 2007 for the MURDER of his BEST FRIEND. The problem is, is that they solely convicted him from an eye witness that was tampered with or could have been apart of the crime herself. The DA HID this WITNESS from the defense for 6 months prior to the trial, in hopes that his attorney wouldn't be able to speak with her at all. They THREATENED her with taking her CHILD away from her if she DIDN'T GIVE them what they wanted and it worked!

The DA in Towson Md. BENT the EVIDENCE to build her case, the problem I'm having about that is if he had done it she wouldn't have had to MANIPULATE anything because the FACTS would have pointed to him but instead the evidence actually EXCLUDED HIM. At the time of the crime, Charles was on his walkie -talkie, with a young lady and GPS placed him in the city when the crime actually occurred. Now I am no rocket scientist but I know we CAN'T BE in two places at the same time, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! The MURDERERS left Charles a message on his phone exclaiming that THEY KILLED his friend and that he would be NEXT. The investigators heard the message and DID NOT look into it!

They had TUNNEL VISION and it caused him to lose 15 YEARS of his life, his MOTHER AND STEPFATHER has passed away, his children are growing up WITHOUT HIM, and I believe that this is an INJUSTICE that happens everyday in our judicial system, with people all over this country (especially poor black men) that needs to be RIGHTED. People HATE TO BE WRONG and it's a CHARACTER FLAW, that a lot people in authority have. They would rather save face then to be wrong. AND THAT'S A PROBLEM!!!! He has reached out to the innocence project, TO NO AVAIL and I understand. They can only get to about 1% of the cases that come into their office because of THOUSANDS of people going through the SAME THING! Charles was able to GIVE BACK 80 years of his sentence which he did on his own pen, but he is still fighting THE LIFE W/O PAROLE sentence placed on his head. I have emailed the convictions unit but they only deal with cases that are handled in the city and I did not know that.

I PRAY that the WORDS I convey to you will touch your HEART and SOUL to help our family, I pray that his case will see a FAIR trial. Four of the  were asleep during his trial, including his FOREMAN! That should NOT been PERMITTED because they had a civil duty to HEAR his case and they FAILED to do that. They should have been more CONSCIOUS because they had someone's LIFE in their hands. Literally!!! We need to SHARE this because we are SUPPOSED to be INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY but they saw him as GUILTY from the START. He DESERVES a NEW TRIAL!
