Make Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph the official mascot of Wreckless
The Issue
I'm sure we've all been there before: You're taking a shower, and you have one of the greatest ideas that all of human history has led up to. That's what happened to me. The genius was flowing through me, and I realized the one area that Wreckless was lacking in. We have no hype man, a mascot, if you will. Then, I thought, "Who would make a good mascot for Wreckless?" And that's when my mind expanded beyond the known dimensions of the Smith honeycomb showers. Who would be a more perfect mascot than Ralph from Wreck-It Ralph? Let's break it down.
To fully understand why Ralph would make a phenomenal mascot, we need to examine him in the context of the Wreck-It Ralph Cinematic Universe(WIRCU). Using the WIRCU will allow us to answer some very important questions:
- What qualities has he shown to make him a compatible mascot for Wreckless?
- How does he interact with the people, resources, and environment around him?
- Does he have any catchphrases that work with Wreckless?
- How will he positively impact Wreckless?
- Did Rhett commit too much time to this so that he could procrastinate?
- What weaknesses does he have?
Let's answer these one at a time.
What qualities has he shown to make him a compatible mascot for Wreckless?
In the movie Wreck-It Ralph(2012), Ralph starts off as the "bad guy" in the game he lives in, and that causes him to be a social outcast. He only wants friends and to be included, and he shows that he's willing to do anything to get that feeling of being wanted. He travels to different game worlds, some much more dangerous than his, to get a medal to prove it, and when he runs into Vanellope, she takes the medal he got away from him. He doesn't give up and attempts to get it back. Upon doing so, he realizes than she is also a social outcast, and he helps and defends her despite her taking his medal from him. He shows that he's willing to help others despite what they may have done to him. He demonstrates that he is helpful, strives for inclusion, and uses creativity to solve problems. All of these are important qualities of Wreckless members.
How does he interact with the people, resources, and environment around him?
Ralph shows that he's eager to work with others, help those in need, and show empathy to those in similar or different situations. He fights aliens with strangers, builds a track for Vanellope so she can train, and scares Vanellope's bullies away. He always does what he thinks is best for others. Using the things he finds around him and his destructive abilities, he built a racetrack, a race car, stopped an alien invasion, and saved multiple games from being unplugged. Throughout his trials, Ralph showed quick-learning skills and major character development to improve whatever situation he was in for himself and others. His abilities to work with those and the things around him show flexibility, another important quality for Wreckless members.
Does he have any catchphrases that work with Wreckless?
"I'm gonna WRECK it!" -Ralph
Both his catchphrase and Wreckless have "wreck" in them, but if that doesn't convince you, this will. Wreckless is a positive mental health organization, and we have fun dong what we love. What we love to do is wreck negativity in whatever way we can. A true Wreckless member cannot take on a task without implementing the phrase, "I'm gonna WRECK it!" It is our problem-free philosophy in this organization, and we should use it in everything that we do.
How will he positively impact Wreckless?
In this position, Ralph's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, being a hype man for any and all Wreckless events, meetings, or outings, tabling for events, and assisting with any other tasks designated to him. As a hype man, he will be able to bring the proper attention that Wreckless needs for its events. As someone who helps with tabling, he will attract fans and others with his charisma and stature. And as a member of Wreckless, he will be able to help others, including us, realize our true potentials.
Did Rhett commit too much time to this so that he could procrastinate?
I think we all know the answer to this question: ABSOLUTELY not.
What weaknesses does he have?
Unfortunately, even a person as amazing as Ralph has weaknesses. He's shown that he can be too trusting when he trusted King Candy about the nature of Vanellope, and in the trailer for Ralph Breaks the Internet(2018), he shows that he can easily get ahead of himself when he overfeeds the rabbit with pancakes.
Conclusion
In summary, Ralph shows the necessary characteristics to be a Wreckless member, and he goes above and beyond in his actions to help others. Therefore, he should become the official mascot of Wreckless. Please sign this petition to show your support for our fearless friend.
