Dear Mayor and Council,

We, the undersigned, support Advanced Air’s bid to provide Essential Air Service (EAS) at the Cavern City Air Terminal for the following reasons:

1)      Twin-engine aircraft allows for a smoother, faster and more luxurious experience than the current single-engine aircraft fleet; and

2)      A 50-pound luggage allowance gives more flexibility for connecting to larger airlines than the current 40-pound limit; and

3)      A more flexible schedule allows for more day trips important to travelers who prefer not to stay the night in Dallas or Albuquerque; and

4)      A track record of reliability that is superior to the current service (99% for Advanced Air in since Jan. 6 in Silver City vs. 77% in the last two months in Carlsbad for current carrier).

We believe improvement in these areas will also lead to more people choosing to fly from Carlsbad rather than drive over an hour to fly from cities like Roswell and Hobbs.
