The Issue

The City Council has asked the staff to do a feasibility study for a pump track in Laguna Beach, the primary location under consideration would be in or next to the present Moulton Meadows Park.  If you have not already, would you please consider signing our petition to show your support for a pump track.  Just a few of the benefits:

- provides a city sanctioned and safe place to ride bikes, scooters and to flow skate off the streets
- is intended as a local, community centric, recreation areas for our own citizens - other cities will have their own
- should not displace any of the numerous other recreational amenity needs in the present city park system
- presents a facility for skills development, coaching and related that does not presently exist for this sport
- has been shown to serve as a great community gathering site, multi age, family and adaptive capable
- conveys an excellent venue for outdoor recreation leading to great physical & mental health benefits
- will likely trigger an annex of city park acreage and decades overdue habitat restoration of the subject land
- could even be leveraged to supplement the street only parking that presently serves this park location
- and we're at the stage where design is flexible (presently we're suggesting the single track shown above)

We are currently at the phase where the City decides if they proceed with a pump track, where it would be located, and the final design.  It is imperative that the decision makers hear from you how important it is for us to have this build for our current and future riders.  Thanks for making your voice known.
