Bring back our school resource officers! 
The removal of our SRO’s had no just basis and was fueled by the negative image surrounding police during these times. As a senior in the Worthington School District, I have seen first hand the result of SRO’s being removed. There has been a dramatic increase of drug use throughout the school, and increased violence in a neighboring school as well. The removal of our SRO’s came just a couple years after a fully loaded weapon was found on the grounds and was tied to gang activity. As a student, knowing we had a officer in the building able to defend us if need be was a great feeling. Put aside your personal beliefs or viewpoints, as SRO’s are for the benefit and safety of students. And for parents, why wouldn’t you want the safest environment for your children in our school system? I’ve seen first hand the shift of the environment within the school and if nothing is done, it will only continue to worsen. I only ask that you sign this petition and help push for The Worthington School Board of Education to reinstate SRO’s for the safety and benefit of our schools and community.
