Save The Sunda Tigers!

The Issue

The Sunda Tiger is known as the Panthera tigris sondaica and Sumatran Tiger. These tigers are Critically Endangered. There are about 400 of these tigers and they are native to The Sunda Islands which is a group of islands in the Malay archipelago, in Indonesia. The Sunda tigers are distinguished by heavy black stripes on their orange coats. They are mammals that eat wild pigs, wild cattle, and other species of deer.
These tigers are endangered, because of the accelerating of deforestation and humans hunt them to make and sell tiger products such as rugs, coats and woman's accessories. “According to a survey from TRAFFIC, the global wildlife trade monitoring network, poaching for trade is responsible for almost 80% of estimated Sumatran tiger deaths—amounting to at least 40 animals per year.” (WWF)

"In Indonesia, anyone caught hunting tigers could face jail time and steep fines. But despite increased efforts in tiger conservation—including strengthening law enforcement and antipoaching capacity—a substantial market remains in Sumatra and other parts of Asia for tiger parts and products."(WWF). Even though people could go to jail it doesn't stop them from killing these tigers.

What we could do to help these tigers is to help donate money to organization that help ou these tigers. For Example, like the World Wildlife Fund. This organization's mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. WWF are monitoring tigers,  Shutting down tiger farms, and helping out the Sumatra habitat.
