Ban the Bushmeat Trade - Reduce the risk of future pandemic

The Issue

Fighting pandemics is not about blame, it’s about measurable and reasonable action against preventable risk. The Bush meat trade has been identified as key factor facilitating transmission of cross species disease. The arguments against legislation and intervention, pale into insignificance in the face of a global pandemic such as Covid 19. China has demonstrated the ability to lock down over 90million citizens in face of the crisis. In comparison action to Permanently end the growing  Bush meat trade and its market demand is well within its powers and those of other countries that persist with this practice. The health of a global community will continue to be placed at risk by the Bush meat trade and its market demand. This petition seeks your support to act now against this preventable risk. Please help to pressure governments and public bodies to bring a stop to a trade that endangers humanity and the vulnerable wildlife that it predates upon. Thank you.
