It is widely believed that the source of the Covid-19(coronavirus) was a ‘wet market’ in Wuhan, China, which sold live animals which were then butchered on site.The same implement would be used to despatch different species.
This terrible inhumane practice poses a very high risk of viruses jumping from animals to humans and it must be stopped.
There should be a strict worldwide ban on the farming and consumption of wild animals and most importantly the killing of any animal at the market place. It needs to be enforced by governments all around the world to avoid the next pandemic. Even if you don't care about animal welfare you can see the health and economic havoc caused by these practices.
