Landlording as a career forces those to demand money from people losing their jobs and homes. It’s an unfair cycle of demand and eviction leading families homless and/or struggling to feed their children or themselves. Homes and food are a needed for survival. People are losing those things daily. Not only this, once thise things are lost, they can be hard to get back. Losing a job and getting evicted, makes it extreme more difficult. Especially with the amount of evictions in the pandemic right now, the housing market is booming, therefore giving landlord some more options for people as tenants. Therefore, the people who hae evictions on their records, have an even harder time finding homes, if at all. Not to mention, coming from someone having worked woth the homless before, I have heard stories of people trying to get back on their feet and find jobs for a new chapter of success in their lives. Unfortunately, they sre turned away because they dont have the means to get a job. Nice clothes, a shower, grooming materials etc. etc. After eviction it ca be impossible to find a new life. THIS is what landlords are doing. I want to stop this, not only because I have been through his personally, but because there are people out there that have and will go through this every single day. Even as I type this. My heart goes out to you. Lets make an effort to stop the vicious cycle of people losing their lives. I don’t know how much this petition can do, but maybe it will at least show landlords the reality of what they are doing.
