Limit the work to only week days and stated working hours.
The Issue
In the recent times due to the pandemic crisis and otherwise, we have noticed that employers across industries are asking their employees to work beyond the stipulated working hours and even on weekends. In fact, they don't ask but imply the same with their words and actions on a daily basis.
This does not only affect a person's work-life balance but also hampers their growth, mental and physical well-being, personal relationships and the relationship with themselves i.e. their overall quality of life.
More so, if an employee refuses to work beyond the time frame or on the weekends, the management ill-treats them. They directly & indirectly judge this refusal and consider the same as a valid point during that person's work performance review. He/She has to face the wrath of the management and are yet again forced to bend down. And if they choose to show resistance, they loose their jobs or face a major roadblock in their growth.
I wish to change this by establishing a law that no offices should function/allow exchange of emails or formal communication beyond their stipulated time. Because work is an aspect of our lives, not our life.
