We want to give you some encouraging updates as we say goodbye to the summer.
Thanks to a successful Virtual Buy-A-Brick Campaign, our Spay and Neuter Training Center is now half finished, and we are already hosting teaching sessions in the new operating room.
A group of veterinary students from Beijing traveled to our center to learn the most up-to-date, least invasive surgical techniques from two highly skilled Taiwanese veterinarians. They have over 30 years of experience in developing spay and neuter programs for stray animal populations.
Teaching is at the heart of our mission for this Center. By training the next generation of veterinarians, we are equipping them with the tools they need to reduce the number of stray dogs and cats who fall victim to the cruel meat trade.
For almost 13 years, Duo Duo Project has worked to reduce the demand for dog and cat meat through humane education and community outreach. Now, through our growing Spay and Neuter Initiative, we are also reducing the supply of strays to the meat trade.
We are attacking this cruel trade on two fronts: reducing the supply and demand.
As we look ahead, with your support, we hope to complete Phase 2 of the center by the end of this year and organize more teaching campaigns before winter arrives.
