Why don't we talk about cats?
We get this question from time to time from our cat-loving supporters.
We don't talk about the cat meat trade as often as the dog meat trade, mostly because we firmly believe that if the dog meat trade is ended, the end of the cat meat trade will follow.
We know it's heartbreaking to see our beloved cats trapped in cages and in this misery. However, just like for the dog meat trade, the young Chinese generation has stepped up to end the nightmare for cats, too.
In the top three most developed cities in China: Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, the TNR program (Trap, Neuter, Release) was brought in 10 years ago and has been implemented really well. This program has reduced stray cats dramatically which has reduced the supply to the cat meat trade.
Thanks to our generous supporters, Duo Duo Project has a well-organized team participating in the TNR program in Beijing.
