The Issue

People with criminal convictions who sustain full time employment often face discrimination during employment, which leads to harassment and other unwanted forms of ill treatment.  Returning citizens should be protected under the Equality and Human Rights Act 2010. This will help to change and shape the workplace making work environments a healthy place for returning citizens to succeed and drive businesses forward.

If the Law stays the same without tougher penalties in place, people with bad intentions to those who have criminal records will abuse their powers especially within a management or high directorial level. After all, if an organisation takes someone on with a criminal past with the intentions of helping others on their rehabilitation journey, then every other employee should follow suit in terms of promoting equality and opportunity for all.

Let's not wait any longer there are many company's out there working on behalf of people with criminal convictions to sustain employment. Protection is required now rather than later, to show a fairer and safer society we need your votes......
