Committee to Elect Hampton-Dance started this petition to Worcester City Council and

As we all know rent pricing in the city of Worcester are currently unaffordable. Families have been pushed out unable to pay the high cost of living in our beautiful city. Who is to blame? How do we fix it? There have been many talks about the high rising rents but nearly no action taken to ensure the people who have spent a lifetime in this city will be able to continue to live here. Landlords have no choice but to raise the rents to meet the increasing tax rates which have tenants who are barely making it as is stretching their dollars even thinner. I am asking you to sign this petition so that we can pose the question on rent control and demand funding from the affordable housing trust from ARPA funds, bill landlords who own more than 3 units -regardless of the number of buildings - at the commercial tax rate, set a temporary rental increase cap, etc? . ACTION!! is what we need. We have to send a message loud and clear to the city government that it will take action to get it done, Their actions. No family should have to be displaced, while working 1-2 jobs and still not being able to afford a place to live. We are calling on our community! Grassroots organizations, Advocates, and most importantly Residents to get involved. Understand the power is in your hands. Let's help families stay in their homes and out of the streets. We are asking humbly that you sign the petition, share it with others.
